SteamVR joining rooms problem.

Having a lot of problems joining friends rooms and vice versa. Get constant time-outs etc between me and friends vice-versa.

Anyone else get this/got a solution?

Do both players need to be opted into steamVRbeta, does it matter?

Also anyone actually getting player to player calls via steam chat to actually work? Whenever I answer a call I just get silence/no levels on mic/speaker

The most common thing that causes this is the simple fact the room has "ghosted". That is to say the host crashed or closed their room, but the steam servers still think it's up.

Another reason is that the room is in fact active, but the room has bugged, preventing people from joining. This is less common, but can happen.

The people in the room can usually recognize when this is happening as they'll see people try to join but then immediately leave, constantly. The host, if they know this is going on, can fix this by moving or reloading the environment they are in.

I too cannot join or host a room with my friend. We will load in, see the room, maybe see one anothers avatars, and then the one attempting to join is removed and sent back to their home room. We have never successfully joined a room. We are both on beta, both tried public and private rooms, both online with Steam. Sucks because I love this and it would be a lot cooler with coop.
