Glide typing for Overlay

Me and a bunch my good mates find typing on steam VR overlay's Keyboard tedious. And frankly glide typing from mobile introduced into the VR overlay's keyboard would be awesome

I guess that is the same as Swype typing? There might be pre-made libraries for this, but certainly a non-trivial task if made from the ground up, could definitely be useful though. Does any other platform offer this up already? Just curious if people have been using it in VR or AR and what impressions have been.
