SteamVR

SteamVR

Quest 3 controllers rendermodels are really badly made
Quest 3 controllers rendermodels are really rushed and have a lot of issues :
- the model isn't at the correct size and correct position, so if you touch both controllers together, they won't align at all (either they will be a gap, or the controllers clip themselves)
- the joystick rotation axis is incorrect (for both controllers), resulting in the joystick clipping in the body or almost "leaving" the joystick slot
- same issue with trigger : when pressed down, the top of the trigger stick out, which is incorrect
- ABXY buttons slightly move diagonally when pressed down, which is again incorrect

Edit : all these values are in the .json file of the rendermodels, and they need to be ajusted because they are almost all incorrect.

I would also add that SteamVR still doesn't have Quest Pro HMD, Quest 3 HMD, Quest 3s HMD, Quest Pro controllers (touch pro) and Quest 3/3s controllers (touch plus) icons for vrmonitor, and falls back to Quest 1/2 icons.

Hi,
Can you let me know how you're connecting to SteamVR? Are you using Steam Link, Air Link, etc.?

Hi,
I'm using Virtual Desktop, but the issue persists with Steam Link (didn't test with Quest Link/Airlink and other solutions), so I'm pretty confident the issue is SteamVR itself and not whatever software I use to connect my headset.

The most noticeable is the joystick (especially if you look at the controller at eye-level and on the side), controller alignment and triggers are less obvious but when you notice them, you can't unsee them.
The ABXY buttons are way more subtile (and maybe no ajustement is needed for them), but something feels wrong about them when they are pressed.

Edit : and I almost forgot about the missing icons that would be great if done one day.

Thanks for your answer.

I just found out that these same exact issues can be found on the Quest Pro controllers rendermodels.
