While we cannot control the browser-side of the experience, have you made sure to configure your system-wide OpenXR runtime to be SteamVR?

When SteamVR is launched, go into SteamVR settings via the ≡ button in the top-left of SteamVR on your Desktop. Go under "OpenXR" and select "SET STEAMVR AS OPENXR RUNTIME" for your system.

Additionally, if running webxr apps in Chrome, you have to disable the sandbox feature. Some versions of chrome put that in flags, others require a command-line flag, `--disable-features=XRSandbox` to be added when launching Chrome.

We do not routinely test WebXR with Chrome, but, do check the back-end.
I have confirmed that SteamVR is my default WebXR runtime.

There is no flag for that in chrome://flags so I will have to try the command-line, but it is working in the latest stable build without messing with more flags, is there specific reason to believe that there is a difference in which browser settings are compatible with stable vs with 2.4.1?
I have confirmed that WebXR is still broken at least with my hardware in beta 2.4.2

For this test, I have also disabled XRSandbox with the command-line flag.

I have recieved the same errors as before running https://immersive-web.github.io/webxr-samples/immersive-vr-session.html on Chrome 122.0.6261.112 (Official Build) (64-bit)

We shipped a fix for this in beta. Please recheck the issue with SteamVR Beta 2.4.3 and let us know if it's all working. Thanks!
I was able to enter VR mode using WebXR in both the Immersive Web demo and an aframe scene using Chrome 👍🎉

Thank you for the quick response!
This exact issue seems to be present in the latest version of Steam VR (2.12.4) as well as the beta release at time of writing. Confirmed previous version (2.11.2) is working though and selecting 'Previous release' in the beta channels settings allows playing WebXR games again
I was able to enter WebXR running version 2.12.14

It may be a different bug and in that case, they may want you to open a new thread for it. Fwiw, my current setup is HTC Vive (gen 1) running on Windows 11 Pro 24H2 and Microsoft Edge Version 139.0.3405.102 (Official build) (64-bit)
