Desktop view doesn't show up in 2.3.5

In steamvr the desktop view is blank I can use my keyboard and such but I can't see my desktop

Same here. No way to view the desktop. I am using valve index, windows 10, intel i7 9700k and 2080ti. This problem starts after this update. I am trying to downgrade or a way to exit the beta, can´t find.

Ive tried to get this bug across to steam support but because my hardware isn't normal, they don't really want to know

If it's anything like mine, it's the timeout of a steam vr webhelper process not completing in time and then just killing the process, leaving no dash when steam VR is finally up and running.

One quick fix for me, is to simply start a VR game, then it'll populate the desktop view icon, or at least for that steam vr session.

Same here on Windows 11. The desktop will show up OK in Bigscreen but not via SteamVr since the update.

I am playing Assetto Corsa, it uses a mod app named Content manager that needs to start in desktop, it doesn ´t start by steamVR app. But the no desktop image is a problem that affect all games, after call the desktop image it´s show a black screen and a mouse hourglass.

Same issue, Quest 2 with windows 11 and I've tried everything. I submitted a system report but only time will tell
