[SOLVED] Error 200/203 Disconnects with Meta Quest 3 VR Headset
Bug Description
During gameplay via Steam Link, I encountered frequent disconnections from my PC, accompanied by Error 200 - "Host PC isn't responding" and Error 203 in Steam VR on the PC. This issue notably occurred during World Load in VRChat, when opening the Steam VR Overlay, and occasionally at any other moment while playing VR or non-VR games.

What I Tried
  • I attempted several troubleshooting steps to address the issue:
  • Lowered bandwidth, resolution, and frame rate in SteamVR settings.
  • Separated 2Ghz and 5Ghz networks and enabled Quality of Service (QoS).
  • Tested SteamVR beta versions on both PC and VR headset.
  • Updated GPU drivers

Observations
Despite adjusting bandwidth, resolution, and frame rate settings, the disconnections persisted, with varying durations between 5 minutes to 1 hour and in rare cases more than 1 hour. The issue appears to be related to activities such as world load in VRChat and Steam VR Overlay usage.

System Configuration
  • CPU: Ryzen 5600X
  • GPU: RTX 3070 Ti, 8GB
  • RAM: 32GB
  • Motherboard: MSI B550 Tomahawk
  • VR Headset: Meta Quest 3
  • Router: Archer C6 (5Ghz connection) - PC is wired to the router.

I'll try to investigate the logs, but not found yet in which section in the VR Dev console I should look at.

Okay, seems I successfully solved this issue by disabling GPU hardware acceleration. Already have a second session for like one hour length and all went okay.

Try to disable GPU hardware acceleration. I found this in the steam link forum:

How to disable GPU acceleration is here:
"""
Searched for this error code, and I tried one of the fixes, switching off "Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling" in Windows. This is found in Start Menu > Setting & then in Settings: System > Display > Graphics > Default graphics settings.

After restarting PC, this stopped SteamVR from crashing.

Hey man! Does worked for me for abt 2 weeks and today it started crashing again upon game launching. What should I do? It keeps giving the "A unexpected critical error has occurred" error msg and just closes the game.
