SteamVR

SteamVR

SteamVR Fail
I can no longer open up SteamVR since updating to 1.4.14 or 1.4.15

I'm getting two pop-ups, these are:

SteamVR Fail
Oh no! SteamVR has encountered an unexpected problem. Restart VR (424)

and also

SteamVR failed to initialized for unknown reasons. (error: Shared IPC Compositor Connect Failed (306))

Any ideas guys?

Can you try "verify integrity of tool files"? It's accessible by right clicking SteamVR (under "tools"), properties, local files.

The most likely explanation for your issue is that your installation has some corrupt files. This will fix it (similar to uninstall/reinstall).

"Tools" refers to the category in your Steam library. There is Games, Software, Soundtracks, and Tools. As an alternative, you can search for SteamVR in the search bar in your library.
