20fps Only When Using SteamVR With Rift S
I currently own an Oculus Rift S that I have owned for a while. I have never had any problems with it until I got my new PC. I can play games smoothly as long as I am not using SteamVR and I launch them with Oculus. I should be running games smoothly even in VR as I have an RTX 3060 12gb, i7 9700k 3.6ghz, 16GB DDR4 2666mhz Ram. and decent cooling. All my games are installed on an SSD and I should run games at the very least 80 Frames as the Rift S has a refresh rate of 80hz.

I recently got back in to VR when I got my new pc and my Rift S has worked just fine playing VR games like Beat saber without SteamVR but if I try and play Beat saber with SteamVR it is unplayable. I suspect the issue to be SteamVR because not only do I get a consistent 20fps in all games I play using it, I also get the 20fps in the SteamVR home. I have done almost everything to try and fix this issue such as closing all unnecessary applications, closing all RGB software such as Razer and ASUS, messing around in NVIDIA Control Panel, as well as downloading OVR Advanced settings to try and fix the issue in there but all I could tell from OVR is I am getting 75% reprojected frames.

My old PC never had these issues and would have high frames on low settings consistently with a GTX 1060 3gb, i5 8400 2.8ghz, and 8GB DDR4 2400mhz Ram. I don't quite understand why I am getting these issues with a better pc with way higher specs and I have spent a day trying to fix this issue but I haven't gotten anywhere. I am not entirely sure what the 75% reprojected frames means but I assume it has to do with my frames dropping.

go into video in steamVR, make sure your supersampling is no higher than 150%

I have messed around with supersampling as well as putting it at its lowest and turning on VRSS but not even a slight improvment with my fps

the rift s is not bad, not sure whats going on. your 1060 3gb could be the issue. 3gb ram is very little for video memory. try reducing textures on what ever game you are using it on.

I have the same problem, have you managed to solve it?

What's interesting that it started about a week ago (before that everything worked normally).

I have 15-20 fps in games inside SteamVR, even with lowest graphics in simple games like Beat Saber. In Beat Saber FpsVR shows that my CPU Frame Time is too high (about 40ms), while CPU load is only 25%. GPU load is also below 50%. SteamVR performance test shows perfect results. Non-VR games are running smoothly as before.

Also I have noticed some strange grain filter in Beat Saber that wasn't there before (don't know if this could help).

My specs: Oculus Quest 2, GTX 1060 6GB, Intel Core i7 3770, Windows 10.

I have tried:
- Changing the graphics settings to lowest, both in-game and in Oculus app
- Rollback last Nvidia driver, which was released on 12 october
- Switching to beta branch of Steam/SteamVR
- Switching to open testing branch on Oculus
- Cleaning my CPU from dust
- Switching from Air Link to cable

I only have framerate issues on beat saber which is odd and so do my friends. I can only play it at a lower resolution which is fine because beat saber has a simple gameplay and bright colours so it's easy to indicate where the blocks are on lower resolutions but at the cost of bad visual quality you can only have good framerate.

Have you tried playing any other game? It should be fine

FYI I have found the cause of my problem. I had Citrix Workspace installed, and it was updated to version 2109.1 in October. After uninstalling Citrix workspace everything is working normally now!
