SteamVr not switching to the vr game

So I just started using virtual desktop with my quest 3 as I was having too many problems with steam link. VD seemed to be working fine at first until I tried using Steamvr with it. Steamvr would launch normally, I would go into the normal steamvr menu within vr. All working as expected until I tried playing games. Let's take fnaf Help Wanted 2 for example: I launch the game with steamvr, the game lauches, but my vr view is still in steamvr, not the game. I see the game on the desktop screen, I can hear it, but the vr view doesn't switch to it. I have tried all that I can to try to get it to work to no avail. Here is what I have tried:

Changing the openxr runtime
Manually setting the game to launch in vr
launching the game without steamvr
Launching the game through the VD menu
Installing the Oculus app
disabling unnecessary addons
Reinstalling gpu drivers
Disabling hardware acceleration
Restarting my computer
Doing a complete reinstall of steamvr
(Might be more I can't remember)

My setup:
WIndows 11 with Intel i7 10700
RTX 3070 Ti
64GB of ram
Ethernet connection to 5ghz router
Meta Quest 3

This problem may be a bit out there but if I could get help I would really appreciate it.
