How to "force" a VR game to launch in Steam VR
Recently I was playing TWD:SS and I have a kiwi pulley set up. I used turn-signal on my right touch controller but when i tried and look it was not there. It was because it was not launched in steam vr mode.

To force a game to launch in steam vr you need to go to the game. Hit the gear button and go to manage and browse local files. Go to Engine/Binaries/ThirdParty/ then look for the oculus or whatever VR standalone and delete that folder. Then your ready.

Note: You have to open the game trough steam VR otherwise you have to delete the folder again.

WARNING/EDIT: I recommend keeping the folder maybe you need it again for like controls or something

Use OVRAdvanced Settings, it has a setting that forces games to be opened via SteamVR.

If it's an Unreal Engine game, you should also be able to use the command line parameter:
-hmd=SteamVR

I found that there is a setting in a config file but then the game lost support
