SteamVR won't initiate firmware updates.

As the title says, I bought a nice shiny new index with a mind to upgrade the headset later to a Pimax, running into an issue though in that my unit is probably on some ancient firmware (Won't go above 90hz for example) and I can't update the controllers, the index, or the knuckles.

I press the "Update this device" button when prompted by steam VR and it closes to start updating, then it just never launches the update program.

At work right now but I'm going to try a SteamVR previous version downgrade and/or factory resetting the headset when I get home.

Anyone have any other ideas for me to try?

I found a workaround, I had to use the old oculus compatible steam vr version, then I was able to update things, then hopped up to the test version, did more updating. You get the idea.
