Quest 2 Steamlink Floating Window Glitch

Happens constantly now where I'll start Steam link and connect and its just a floating window instead of wrapping around my eyes and fully going into VR. Not sure how else to describe it. Been messing around with remote play and all that garbage just about nothing works.

This exact thing is happening to me and drives me crazy, however sometimes it works perfectly fine. Its so inconstant that I'm considering buying virtual desktop. I contacted steam support about this and started my own discussion so hopefully this is figured out. (I'm just glad I'm not the only one having this issue)

I dont know if this is the same problem we have because I at least can hear audio when i launch steam link but it sounds somewhat similar

I can hear audio as well. Maybe same root of the problem?

May I ask, has yours ever worked before? Because when I first tried steam vr it worked fine.

I FIGURED IT OUT, or steam support did, (I hope, cause like I said mine is very inconsistent and this could just be a coincidence. But anyways this is how I fixed it:

1. Click Steam in the top left, and then click settings
2. From there go to this interface tab
3. Then click the client beta participation drop down
4. Then select steam beta update and confirm the restart
5. Wait for the update and steam vr should launch as normal

No problem, this was actually steam support that helped me, just glad we figured it out

ok nm, its happening again. It decides to work three times after i did that and now its not working again, this is getting on my nerves

may I ask the specs of your pc
we may just need to wait for steam updates because steam client beta allows steam features before release
