Error Code 108: Nothing detected
So, a few days ago I wanted to do some stuff in VR but after launching SteamVR I got the Error 108. The little window opened up as always but none of my base stations, controllers or the headset (Valve Index) showed up. There was the text that the headset could not be detected. Even though all the lights are on, blue on the headset, green on the startions.
By now I've restarted Steam, SteamVR and my computer several times and also unplugged and reconnected the headset and the base stations. Also got my headset plugged directly into my computer. YouTube videos also did not help.

Does anyone have any advice on what to do?

Undo the restore point windows, until something updated and everything stopped working ??

That would be strange since everything worked fine till last satturday. That was after the latest windows update.
But I've tried setting up the Beta version of SteamVR for a previous version and that didn't help as well.

108 is failure to detect over USB, you can stop fiddling with base stations.

Start here: SteamVR support wizard https://help.steampowered.com/en/wizard/HelpWithGame/?appid=250820

Prior fixes in the forum for Index stopped working overnight, SteamVR crashes:
0.5) Test on stable releases (steam & steamvr), unless the beta notes specifically address your case and be sure to submit a bug report if the beta was the problem.
1) power cycle the HMD ( https://steamcommunity.com/app/250820/discussions/0/3768982992509873646/?tscn=1673325691 ) valve's instructions: ( https://steamcommunity.com/app/250820/discussions/2/3781371939903917200/ )

2) turn off USB power management ( https://www.reddit.com/r/ValveIndex/comments/t34dgu/steamvr_doesnt_detect_my_headset_gives_me_this/ )

3) (LED blinking red) problem with "process lasso" software ( https://steamcommunity.com/app/250820/discussions/2/3810659494963555032/?tscn=1690616447 )

So, something funny just happened. I got rid of the error but now none of my devices is detected. I just get the message to plug them in even though they already are.
And yes, I've tried unplugging them and plug them back in, restarting my PC and the SteamVR Beta. But none of those worked.
