Meta Quest 3 - Opening Steam link results in black screen, audio and no video.

Hi, so I installed the Steam link in my Meta Quest 3, and every time I open it from the main menu of the Quest 3, just opening the app, I manage to link to my PC successfully, and then I can see a black 2D screen, like if I look to the left or right with the headset, I can still see part of the menu of the quest 3, shoot even if I move a little bit in my room and crouch, I can use my control to click on the small wide dashboard where contacts/browser apps are...

If I look at the black screen and move my controls to aim at the black screen, I only get audio, and it seems if I blindly move my Quest controls around and manage to aim at something, it sounds like I can click it, and if I click it, it goes there but since I cannot see what I clicked, I don't know whats going on... Super weird.

So I installed Meta Quest Link on my PC, synced the headset, opened my desktop from the headset, opened steamVR, saw that home VR environment, headset movement responded just fine, saw my controls through the headset, everything working fine, opened half life alyx, played just fine...

There is something wrong if I try to connect to my PC with the steam link app directly... any ideas why? anyone experienced this before? First time owning a headset, have super basic knowledge on this, did try searching videos on youtube or the meta forums, saw only one person with the same problem, meta asked more details and he didn't reply...

I have the same problem on a quest 2 on any pc I try it on.
On the newest v67 meta firmware.

Same issue here. Updated Virtual desktop streamer no games,no vr just black screen.

I have the same issue except it isnt a black screen, instead I can somewhat see my steam vr environment/home. Mine is also very inconsistent to where it sometimes works perfectly and other days I have this issue and I have no clue what I change (if I change anything) that causes It to work. Ive had this problem for so long and have tried so many things that Ive almost given up and just try again every steam/steam vr/steam link update. SOMEONE PLS HELP

Nm now I have the same thing. Its sometimes this and sometimes a black screen

I never found a direct fix, but I found if you use a different meta account on the headset it fixes the issue. I'm assuming this problem is to do with how steam link was set up on the meta account.

Any fixes for this? SteamVR works fine, but I get the black screen every time I select controller and launch steam link in 2D

Restarting the VR is the only solution for me.

This is driving me nuts. I’ve tried to link to 3 different machines, but the steam link just borks. Every once in a while it happens to work, but it breaks the very next session.

I have verified that the controls and audio are working and it’s just the screen staying on black. Als when restarting or reinstalling steam link it stays black.

I use steam remote play all the time with the deck without issues so i see no issues with my network.

My girlfriend had the same problem when we tried to play phasmaphobia together. I couldn’t figure it out at first but then I switched back to a previous version of steam vr and it worked perfectly. There’s a Reddit form about this issue too and that’s one of the solutions it offered. The other solution some people had was to get a new router because their old one couldn't support the internet speed that steam link requires
