Tundra trackers require base stations and a usb dongle to handle their connections. They are not self tracking.

The USB dongles for the trackers also need to be in plain sight of your playspace or else you face frequent loss of signal.

You do need base stations, yes. They are not self tracking and that is what tracks them per the website.
