Steam VR complaining about Windows 8 OS on Windows 10
Steam VR is complaining that I am using Windows 8 and that I should update to Window 8.1 or Windows 10.
I am running on the latest version of WIndows 10 1909.
Having said this was is an upgrade from Win 8 to Win 10 back in 2015.
It seems that Steam has registered the old Windows version somewhere and will not let it go.
Any ideas where I should look to remove any reference of this?

I figured it out. I think this will help a lot of people having the same issue but basically you want to determine one of two things:

1. If it happens to all games, make sure you are not running the Steam executable in "Compatibility Mode" with Windows 8 or whatever.

2. If it happens to just a few games, make sure that the executable for those individual games are also not running in "Compatibility Mode"

Worked for me!

How does one even get into compatibility mode?
