HTC Vive Controller Touchpad Issue

The touchpad on one of my vive controllers seems to be stuck on going a certain direction so if im playing something like Arizona Sunshine i keep moving left. The physical button is fine, just the touch input is playing up. If i click the button in that direction it seems to fix it until i touch that direction again. Anyone know of a fix? I really dont want to shell out $250 for a new controller even though i cant seem to be able to buy it from the VIve website plus EBGames dont sell the controllers by themselves.

Not sure if related, but mine did phantom touches once. Room was dry in the winter, the controller rubbed the carpet a bit when I picked it up, got a static charge before it was turned on. The touch pad could tell where my finger was hovering above it, and was reacting as if I was touching it. Shut it off, grounded it, good to go.

Yeah that describes the problem better, Phantom Touches. I managed to fix it by doing what people said to do when you cant click the touchpad by pinching or squeezing the sides until you hear a click.

Actually now that i think about it i may have done your solution by accident because i just realised my VR space is centered around a rug lol
