If i connect the displayport to mini displayport there's no signal, and i tried a few things but its not working.
Hey, i just bought the cable from the original vive site. Now the output from the graphics card doesn't work. I've a AMD Radeon R9 380 Series. Any suggestions?

Make sure everything is completely powered down before restarting - sometimes GPUs can cache old display connections when they shouldn't.

If that doesn't fix it, can you post a SteamVR system report from when it's in this broken state?

To obtain one of these, click the 'SteamVR' menu, 'Create System Report' and then 'Copy to Clipboard' or 'Save to File' and post the results somewhere. (There'll be a fair amount of detail so it won't fit in a comment here. Google Drive, Dropbox and similar seem to be good solutions.)

Thanks!

It's definitely not finding the headset display:

Does it definitely still work with an HDMI cable between the graphics card and the link box? If not, I'd double-check all the connections. For the ones on the headset, there's a small flap which slides forwards to allow access. Unplug everything then replug - there are likely to be tutorials etc. online to show you how to do this if you get stuck. (It's quite tricky to open!)

To check if it's the link box at fault, try connecting the HDMI part of the headset tether directly to the HDMI port on your graphics card. Then try the short HDMI cable from the graphics card directly to the headset - this will check if it's the long tether cable causing problems.

If it's solely with the new display port cable, I'm not sure what to do. Make sure drivers are all up to date, and if you can test the cable by running to a monitor of some description then try that.

Hope that's of some use!

Okay, so when i just plug the hdmi cable into the graphics card and the usb from the headset its working. But with the linkbox it doesn't work. With the linkbox there's just a red light at the vive and a black screen. So now i can play but i really don't want to switch everytime the hdmi cable to play with the vive. I guess i should buy a 1 input 2 output adapter or something. Thanks for helping me.

your getting closer in solving the issue. could be a cable or linkbox issue perhaps? Sometimes repluging in the devices cleans up the connections.

It sounds like a faulty DP<->MiniDP cable.

I had a similar issue with a cheap DP<->MiniDP cable, making me RMA a new monitor before I realized what the issue was.

Try a different cable. Get a high quality one.

As a side note, I had this problem back in 2016, even returned my cable for a new one at the electronics store. Eventually I figured out that two of my ports shared output, if I used the single DVI port at the same time as my DP port, DP would simply not do anything at all 😅

That was an Nvidia GPU though, but just to check, what other things do you have hooked up to the GPU?

So today the cable is working but its only showing my desktop without the tracking.
I've already tried to reinstall steam vr and i restarted my pc a few times. Nothing happend.
