SteamVR Crash and Computer Locks up

This has happened often enough for me only when playing VR games where the HMD abruptly turns off and my computer is frozen. The only option to recover is to power cycle my computer.

I've looked my logs and only found these entries relevant with errors during the time.

Can anyone help figure out why this is happening?

Check your CPU and GPU temps.

Does this happen on certain games or random?
If crashes happened in certain games, i would reinstall the game.

Are you overclocking CPU and RAM? If you are, try to run yoru CPU and GPU at stock speed.

This seems to happen at random. I will start running on temperature logging tool.

I'm curious to hear what temps you are reaching. We are experiencing the same issues lately. Running SteamVR 1.5.16, GPU RTX 2070, CPU i-7 8700, graphics set to 'maximum performance'. We will be conducting some temp tests as well and I'll post our findings. Our only options are to power cycle the PC as well, which seems to 'fix' the issue.

I recently updated my Windows from 1803 to 1903. So far it has not happened again. I will follow up with temps next time it occurs.
