Run room setup missing (Oculus Rift)
Hi everyone:
I've been using Oculus Rift with SteamVR without any problems until now, but something has changed. I don't have the option "Run room setup" but a simple "Run tutorial" and everything related to room scale, center position, and height looks wrong, including SteamVR Home (my character seems to be under the floor). Since I can´t calibrate my room scale nor my height or center position, there is no blue circle on the floor anymore.
Any ideas about this? Thanks.

I have the same issue. The "Run Room Setup" is now missing I think after the recent update. I also can't re-calibrate my Rift.

Same here

Same for me

This is also my issue. Not as bad as you but the automatically set up chaperone is identical to my guardian except bigger. ie, it is outside of my play area and therefore useless. Having chaperone always-on on the floor outline no longer works. "run room setup" is missing. I've been using guardian to indicate my hard walls and chaperone to draw a smaller playspace on the floor to keep myself centered for months now. This update without options messes everything up for me. Can we get a response here?

Same issue here, same with my friends on the oculus, room setup is now gone all of a sudden, my play area is way larger than it use to be, my center marker is under the ground, heights off, and tracking is off.... This needs addressing asap.

I submitted the issue to Steam, and they came back with the following:

""" Thanks for contacting Steam Support.

Since you are using an Oculus Rift, make sure that you have set the Oculus Rift software to Allow Unknown Sources.

It appears your video card’s drivers are out of date.

To download and update your card’s drivers, please visit the manufacturer’s website for your card:

For NVIDIA-based GPUs: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx

Once installation is successful, please re-test and tell us if the issue persists. """

I'll try updating the drivers, but I doubt this is the reason.

I think that Steam Support has misunderstood our issue.
This has nothing to do with graphics drivers, which are always updated in my particular case, though.
I hope they give us a better answer and a solution, if possible.

They most certainly misunderstood. My drivers are up to date and so are all my friends drivers. This issue is major on my end as my play space is huge now and my tracking is off completely. Height and all. I need to re do the setup so everything works as it use to. My games when launched from oculus home are perfectly fine but steam vr has been completely altered with no way yo fix it. Even in the tutorial I can't even walk toward the robot because the play space it believes I setup is larger. Re doing oculus setup didn't change steam vr room setup. Easy fix steam... give us room setup back with options. Simple, don't try and fix things if they aren't broken. Please respond steam support.

I updated the drivers and as expected this didn't help.

However, I did go into steam's vr settings - developer option and selected 'small space' and 'quick calibrate'. This centered it in my play space (2x2m) but the height wasn't adjusted (my waist was at floor level).
However, when I reset the view in the oculus app, this fixed the height issue.

According to below link, it says "SteamVR’s Chaperone no longer renders when drivers provide their own (to avoid double rendering bounds)". I see the logic here, because since the Oculus app creates its own chaperone guide walls, there's no need for the steam app to also create these.

BTW using guardian2chaperone give me a perfect matching area, but ufortunately after reload SteamVR it will be overwritted with the wrong/bigger

Hey, guys, it seems that those options are only hidden until you start SteamVR, then they appear again in your Steam Library as any other game, including SteamVR Room Setup. :)

Start Steam VR, then look your VR games in your Steam Games library, now there have appeared some SteamVR apps, including SteamVR Room Setup.

Don't see it there. Tried a search for "room" too. Can you post the appid? maybe I can search for it in the store that way and install it or install it with steamcmd.

Edit: The "game" appears in the VR menu for me when in VR but not in the regular steam client
