*SOLVED* Can't Open Steam Overlay Menu

The overlay menu won't open when I press the bottom button on the Vive controllers. I also tried shift-tab just to be sure.

I have tried it in beta, non-beta, and in and out of Steam VR Home. It also won't open in games either, "which is a real bummer!" It's totally borked!

(I can see the animation of the button being pressed, so it's definitely registering in the system, just not opening the overlay, so I imagine that it's absolutely to do with the overlay, and not the controllers)

Update, In [Settings] -> [Applications] - Steam.exe is not chacked, and will not stay checked.

Also, the Dashboard is off on the [Settings] left panel notification.

Anybody know how to fix this? (I went back to non-beta, FYI...)

In Dev options [Enable VR Overlay] is a tick box... (So what is steam.exe in the applications side?) How did it get changed on it's own...???

Just to update this, you can go to "Settings", "Desktop" in SteamVR, and find this now.

Wait so how do you even open the steamVR menu? Cause im in my quest 2 and ive hit every button and nothing will pop up

the little window that shows your headset and like, the 3 lines on the upper left, THOSE settings are where you go in,

It's monumentally frustrating to be told to access something in a menu when the stated problem is the inability to access the menu. Bravo sir you belong in tier one IT support

fixed idk how just loaded and it was fine
