Valve index or quest 3?
im sure this gets asked alot but there's quite a few things here i can't decide with

- i can get the index for the same price as the quest 3 if its refurbished
- i really like the controllers for the index
- i don't mind about the resolution since i'd probably need it turned down a bit on any big game anyway
- i don't care about mixed reality stuff
- i have a quest 2 at the moment but i really dislike meta and i find the pcvr really annoying to use on it

It seems to me that the answer is Index.

But it's not that simple.
'Cause it depends on what you're missing.

If you are e.g. angry because you would like the helicopter control in vtol to be more precise.
In shooting games, you dream of shooting a revolver from the hip (without looking at the crosshair).
Or some other reason why you want to have outside in tracking (yes I know the index is really inside out).
Then you buy an Index.

You can't stand updating your firmware anymore when things stop working every now and then.
You are bothered by having a Facebook account and the rules of its use.
Then you buy an index.

Goggles are uncomfortable, and you're sick of them.
Then you buy an index.

But the price... price also matters.
And is what you get worth buying another set?
Maybe just wait like many here for another good vr headset like Index 2 or Deckard.

If you have a quest 2 I wouldn't buy a quest 3 if there is no clear reason for it.
For example, faster wifi is a good reason if you don't use a cable. Faster WiFi means better picture.
I prefer vr kits with cable, the battery is always full. The image is of the best quality.
The Quest 3 is a great vr, but the Quest 2 is much better value for money.

In addition, Index, how much longer the cable can last in the refurbished condition, what condition the lanterns are in.

Deckard ?

Neither are great, the index is clumsy (sold it) and the quest 3 is a disappointment and both are overpriced! Quest 2 or a pico 3 or 4 is your best choices, good luck. (pico 4 smacks the quest 3 hard)

Then why not index now, then Vive Pro 2 or BigScreen Beyond when you do?
