Quest 3 really good - Steam VR a relentless grinding nightmare of problems and faffing.

I'd really appreciate some advice. I can't face typing all the issues I've had with Steam VR. I have had to reconnect and basically reboot my PC after each Steam VR use otherwise I can't enter VR, or the performance is awful. I tried to use Rift link and it was great until I disconnected then I got a black screen when trying to reconnect. This can happen with Quest link also. It might be cable data transfer rates. Airlink hasn't been much better. Connection poor. I split the wifi into 5 and 2.4 this made it worse. Looking at direct to PC wifi card as an option as I have Powerlink with 180MBPS to the PC. As for Steam VR it's been really unreliable. Changing height, refusing to load. Showing on screen on PC but not on headset, but mostly just not allowing me access unless I change a resolution setting in Meta Quest Link which still gives awful performance. I am at a loss if I'm honest and would like to know what's going on. Many people say Steam VR is poor and use Virtual Desktop instead. Please help. PC is Decent Spec. R7 3700X. 6950XT. 32GB 3600Mhz X570 MB.

If you wouldn't mind trying Steam Link, it has some tools that we can help use to diagnose issues. It has a debug graph under Steam VR settings -> Show advanced settings -> Steam Link -> and you can enable the debug graph.

This will pop up a window that can give some better ideas as to what is going on.
