starts lagging as soon as i open steam vr through virtual desktop

every time i hope up steam vr through virtual desktop my whole headset screen and my laptop start constantly lagging like crazy and the controller motion is lagging as well and its been doing this for about 4 days or a week now and ive tried everything i know that might fix it and nothing has fixed it

Laptop gpu's are quite limited compared to a desktops and sounds like you may have hit a performance wall. For games that do not wanna launch right or are laggy at start up try using the razer cortex software (launch games from there), just a suggestion.

im using a msi 4050 gaming laptop and its never done this before and its never done this before on steam vr or virtual desktop

its still lagging and i dont use that razer thing and never have

The combo VD/SteamVR went from super fluid to totally unusable.

Roughly a week ago it still worked like a charm, and today i am already ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ around like 5 or 6 hours because of this ♥♥♥♥

Ok i got good news on the topic: verify your SteamVR files, on my rig steam downloaded and exchanged 2 "oculus"-files, and now the stuttering and freezing is gone.

Hi - have you managed to fix this - I hae the same issue runnig a 4070 ti super on a gaming pc - so my pc spec isn't an issue and is able to run loads of games / vr at 4k no issues.

Same here… Desktop is displayed correct, but when I run a game from steam (not necessarily vr) it is lagging now. I have perfect network conditions, there was no problem before with same games, now I can not play, because they are laaaagigng.

Yesterday i met same problem. I downgrade version to "previous build" in beta settings of SteamVR app. But doest seems that it helped.

After that i tried to disable my VPN and this solved the issue!

Idk why, but looks like steamvr trying to direct traffic through your vpn server before it goes back to your Quest.

I get this issue all the time. Verifying Steam files always fixes it, and 2 files are always corrupt. It'd odd for sure. It has done this to me for a few months now. I use the Quest 3.

Also yes always make sure your not using a VPN if you play wireless.

I'd very much like to use VPN. how can i use VPN when connecting my headset wireless?
WIth VPN activated in my rig,, my Headset cant connect anymore.
