Pico connect 10.4.5 issue with steamvr
Hello, i got a pico 4 ultra since a week. Tried steam vr with pico connect 10.3 and then did the upgrade. I now got stutter in Steam vr ( latency and transmit jump to 190ms) . I am with wifi 5ghz. Didnt try with cable yet but everything works fine until I connect to steam vr . Anyone got this issue ?

Have the same issues but not cause Pico Connect.
My fix was using a SteamVR Beta. Old version but working version is Beta temp_1.27.5.
I am afraid VALVE will NEVER fix the issues which they brung up with SteamCRAP 2.0. The new Steamclient is garbage.

Thank you ! It worked !!! Now I need to figure out why the texture in alienRI are shaking when I move ….i will try later another game to see if it does that too .
Thanks again !

How much FPS do you get in Alien:Ri ?
For the best performance try that the games run on 72 FPS synchron to the refreshrate of the headset.
In the driver of my AMD graficcard i did limited the framerate to 51 because i am using a Freesync-Monitor with a range for sync of 50-120 Hz. But in VR only few games are running smooth on 51 FPS. The most VR-Games need 72 or above.

To check my FPS ingame i am using FpsVR, a monitoring-tool available here on Steam.
But sometimes FpsVR interferer with a the game.
Metro:Awakening will stutter much if the tool runs at the same time. When i did shutdown the tool Metro runs very smooth on 72 FPS.

Didnt touch too much yet in game and in steam vr ( 90hz for the headset as i use the pico 4 ultra ). My minimum is 60 fps , fsr sélected because i read it was better for this game . Still dont know if i need to change eye per eye définition in steam vr … on auto but when i click manual i see 4xxxx X4xxxx ( dont remember the number but it was 150 % . Using i9 13900k, 32gb of ram and a 4090 wc ).

Ah ok, your system is powerful enough for ULTRA-Settings in Pico Connect.
But do you need really 150% resolution in Steam itself ?
Pico´s Displays are only 2160x2160 pixel. I am always use the Super-Definition which means it is on 2568x2568 but Steam on the native resolution is fine also.

You don´t mean FSR instead of DLSS ? Nvidias Upsampling-Algorhythem calls DLSS.
And where do you set this option ? Ingame ?

Wondering that your minimum FPS are only 60. Your system should be powerful enough for 90 FPS.

AHH, one thing what you could try is the codec in Pico Connect. Set the codec to AV1 (not H.264 or H.265).
AV1 is a very efficient codec which the 4090 can use in hardware. That should result in the highest performance which is possible on your PC.

Edit:
Did read some reviews on Steam and i am afraid performance issues not a result of headset,Pico Connect or Steam. It is the game itself.
Hope you will find the right settings to play until the follow patches will fix these issues.

Hi,
I need to lower the eye to eye then . I will try the dlss but on normal game I prefer to play in native résolution . The option is in game . I already use av1 . The picture is really good , but there is what i say in the panic room … I was too busy in the other room to see if it was doing the same …. I Will need to try some other VR game I got . Accustom to play 4K 120hz .

Thank you !!!

:)
I have the same problem and i'm going crazy!
My sim racing assetto corsa is stuck at 70~80fps using 90hz on my pico4 while my 7900xt is about 50~60% usage getting 16~22ms latency!
Tried a lot of rollbacks on SteamVR versions and AMD drivers but for now nothing works!

Yesterday i did test the Beta of the Steamclient and played Metro: Awakening. Got very low FPS and all was stuttering.
So i did rollback to the Stable-Version. Metro run smooth again.
Sad that at the evening a new version Stable-Client was offered by Steam.
Don´t test this version in an VR-Session, but i am frightend of a new try. ^^

In your AMD-Driver deactivate all limitations for Assetto Corsa.
No framecaps or Radeon-Chill or AMD Freesync and so on.

Yeah I will try to deactivate everything and see one more time!
I went back to last summer drivers for both AMD and steamVR and everything was smooth again… for a day… Yesterday it went back to being locked around 75fps… I’m thinking of getting back to monitor but it pains me because I really like VR simracing…

Don't worry, you're not alone, I have huge spikes with my Quest 2 when everything seemed to be fine before. And they can't tell me that upgrading my PC to a better GPU and CPU is the problem. Huge spikes, everytime, that's barely impossible to play sometimes. And I won't mention the fact that the menu is bugging to the fact that it crashes. Really annoying.
For me it’s playable but it’s not smooth, having 90hz and the hardware to run it 90fps locked but can’t is really frustrating since it ran good all 2024…

When you are in steam vr how is your latency and transmit ? Is it stable or spike sometimes like me causing stutters/lag while still at 90 fps ? I got that …. Went of with the beta 2*2 suggested me but now it s the same but less …. I can play but sometimes it spike and …. Some lag . Didn’t have time to try with usb yet to see if it does the same …. As I am new to vr I got a hard time setting up alien:RI but the fact to have those spike in steam vr doesn’t help at all 🤣

Both have normal values, the problem is the “game” that’s around 16~20ms and shows in red and light red, if I turn the performance panel ON on Pico connect!
I just don’t understand, I tried everything… nothing works
PS: I’m using cable
