First of all the router needs direct connection to your PC, not through switches.
Second, those cheap routers are not good anyway. You should get a high performance dedicated router for your Quest 3 plugged directly in your PC and connect to that.
If you don't have any half serious router dedicated for your quest, the link cable is your ONLY option. Otherwise even if you could somehow connect the performance will be garbage.
