I had these issues, and I did something different from the recommendation above. I got interested in Sidequest, and they had directions for becoming a Quest developer.

So you get dev access to your own headset. So yeah, you consider yourself to be a developer. Maybe helping with the testing of an app in development. Part of the team. You give your own proprietorship a name, too.

I did all that, and then wouldn't you know, I had sound.
