current version of steam vr is causing massive memory leaks

every time i start a vr game now ever since the update my RAM shoots up to 16gb - 31gb causing all my other apps to crash and give me a werfault error.

anyone else having this issue?
i have updated my drivers for both windows and AMD
used an sfc scan for file errors (nothing found)
memory diagnostic (nothing found)

I have the same problem with oculus quest 3.

the only fix i found was reverting back to previous version of steam vr

having a similar issue with the latest version of SteamVR though its not "massive" but after a long while my ram ends up climbing up to 90% usage from steam VR
witch is crazy when i have 32 gigs ddr4 3200MT/s of ram 🙏😭

You have an AMD card, there is a known driver conflict with the motion smoothing that they are patching in the next version (available next month). It's extremely likely that this is your problem. Turn off motion smoothing and restart SteamVR completely. Ideally any helper applications for your headset like Oculus/Meta Link, Vive Hub, etc.
