(I've never had a WMR, I'm not up to date.)
Hardware wise my Reverb G2 was great. The trouble was how buggy the software was. It was always wonky, some games were more about getting the headset to work than playing.
I was hoping they were going to gut the WMR system and just piggy back off of steamVR with that steamVR driver but nope it got nuked so i gave mine away.
If the reverb was good for you, id like to suggest the PSVR2. Its been way more stable, and theres a few features like HDR and hand tracking that may eventually make its way to here. Maybe not, but at least its possible.
Now the bluetooth dongle people are using seem to be causing issues. Its basically the cheapo dongles dont have enough bandwidth for whatever reason. Im lucky enough where my z390 built in wifi card has a decent bt4.0 connection.
As for Bluetooth, this is obviously the last thing to cheap out on a dongle for, it needs to support a significantly higher data rate than needed for a mouse and keyboard. Still should be reasonably inexpensive though.
