No Sound
Good afternoon! I have a problem with steam vr. Audio is transmitted to headphones in all games. But as soon as I connect to steam, I immediately have a problem - the sound turns off on VR.

The tips in the sound settings don't work. I switched the input and output to headphones, and also turned on sound duplication. Still no sound on VR. Are there any other actions that I can do?

For everyone else, steamvr sometimes makes an odd default choice. When checking your sound configurations, if you normally put your sound through say headphones or the 3.5mm jack, consider setting the output to HDMI, usually the one attached to your GPU.

I had a similar problem: no sound with SteamVR, but everything else worked fine. For example, I could watch videos from my PC via Remote Desktop and hear the sound through the VR headset, so the VR headset device was active and working properly. I solved the issue by going to the sound settings (Settings -> System -> Sound) and scrolling all the way down. There, you’ll find an option called “Advanced sound settings” or “More sound settings” (I’m using a German PC, so the labels might be slightly different). Clicking on it opens a small window displaying all sound devices (including the disabled ones). In that list, I found the devices for my VR headset as well as the "Steam Streaming" devices. All of these should be enabled. In my case, the "Steam Streaming" devices were disabled. Hope this helps!

I have the same issue with sound. I choose every single device (steam streaming, oculus headphones, etc etc) at the sound manager and still no sound from my Quest 3S. I decided to plugged my bluetooth earphones and choose them from sound settings on windows after Steam VR started.

Okay, it wont help anyone, but I have the same issue since a couple of days with the Quest 3. The last game with sound was tetris.

I have no sound either. The headphones on my quest three work for everything except when playing VR through Steam. Any suggestions. I am about to give up on it.

Have you tried to access the Desktop and to click on the game Window? Somehow clicking on the game Window brings it into focus and gives me sound.

Oh.. I'm sorry, I completely forgot about this discussion >_<

None of the methods helped me, so I made a backup of all my important data and just reinstalled my system. This.. it helped, but I don't think many people decide to do it

Unfortunately, I will not be able to verify your theory. I apologize
