Edit
NVM, the faulty component is NOT part of the driver itself, but a part of the widcomm bluetooth stack package, I do not know why SteamVR and HTC can't get updates for this considering it has not been discontinued.
As long as VR/headset etc keeps working...
- This worked for me. stupid windows
Starting Steam VR will ask you for a driver update, if this is your first install.
Spread the word to the solution to everyone
It's not a solution for me. It's rather adding a possible security hole.
I've given up on them however fixing this issue, it's been years. Affecting both Base Stations version 1 & 2.
I've rather been using a Smartphone app called "LightHouse PM"
Lighthouse Power Management:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jeroen1602.lighthouse_pm
Enable access to your bluetooth and you can toggle each Base Station within close range of it. It works well for either Base Stations 1 or 2. A bit manual to open the app each time, but just a click of a button to use.
This is the solution. V1 base stations haven't received an update for ages, nor will they in the future. Disable Bluetooth, remove offending driver with pnputil if you've disabled core isolation. Keep Core Isolation activated or enable it again and feel safe. (r) Remember, the controllers pair with the headset, not the Bluetooth link box. Power management should be loss, not computer security.
Its not that hard switching stations off and on.
Thanks. This worked. I just bought my buddies OG Vive for $200. I'm running Windows 11.
