Haven't heard much about Quest 1 causing neck pain, but I know that many have experienced that with a Quest 2. Try adjusting the strap on your headset so the weight is better balanced.

Quest 3 has option to play VR while laying down. Couple that with highly improved pass through over Quest 2, its a great experience.

I have the same problem on the PICO 4, normally with the control trigger I can orientate the view. But on steamVR the trigger doesn't work....
