Vive wireless adapter update
Updated the wireless adapter through steam and now the headset is not being reconized.
I have done the following to verify every thing is working properly.
1) connected headset up to box with wires that are used between the HMD and wireless adapter. SteamVR sees the headset and works properly.
2) launched games and all register in the HMD
3) I have restarted and shut down the computer as well
Any ideas to trouble shoot this. I really do not want to have to uninstall and steam and headset again.

Your going to laugh at this but I am still rocking the OG Vive from 2016..

Once again SteamVR team has screwed things up. I have to uninstall Steam, SteamVR and wireless Adapter apps and reinstall them all. Love this game they play... :steamfacepalm:

Exactly! Thats why I bought the Quest 3 and use the Steam Link app and it is smooth as butter. The "New" Vive 2 kept freezing up and stutters to 10 FPS all the time with MSFS 2020.
have you used it before? the wireless adapter has some specific requirements you can see in the manual. not sure i ever updated mine. if i did, it was years ago when i first got it.

i also remember people having issues on certain mobos/bios.

vive pro 2 works fine for me wired and wireless for years now on a 4090/5800x3d. people don't realize the resolution requires serious hardware and that the wireless adapter requires even more serious hardware. my msfs and other sims work fine both wired and wireless. these are demanding games to begin with, and playing them on a vp2 jacks those demands way up. i feel in some stuff, like msfs, and i'm sure the new one, there's still a bit of room to grow though. will be interesting to see if 5090 + new cpu can close the gap.

i previously ran 2080s/3700x and the jump to 4090/5800x3d was huge. the 2080s didn't support DSC/extreme mode either, so was lower res and 90hz.

and the vp2 blows quest 3 out of the water, even more so for seated sim stuff. it's still higher res, better fov imo, and it looks like quest 3 still has issues with actually being able to utilize 120hz. to me, the vive stuff also feels higher quality. the vive trackers are awesome also.

quest stuff is great if you just want to get going, but PCVR HMDs are well worth it still.

only thing i hate is it's a pain to switch between wired/wireless on vp2.

Yes i have used this before on this full setup for some time. I have had my HMD since 2016 and the Wireless Adapter for the last 2 - 3 yrs now.

It has been doing this to me for the last yr every time the HMD and or Wireless adapter gets an update. I is a ritual now for me to have to uninstall and reinstall the programs mentioned above in order for it to work properly.
