SteamVR crashes PC with bluescreen when changing Hz (Nvidia Geforce)

I have an solution for this problem, im just gonna copy paste what i wrote to the Nvidia Support.

There are problems with SteamVR with the driver that was released on October 1st, 2024.
My Computer (Windows 10) Crashes with a BSOD, Error Code: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL.
Cause of error: nvlddmkm.sys, if you want to change the refresh rate (e.g. from 90Hz to 80Hz).
Solution: Delete the driver in the device manager and use an old one (in my case: release date January 5th, 2023) then everything works smoothly again and there are no more crashes.

Same. If it's also an AMD problem, is there an issue with the Valve VR driver/program too? I want to use 120hz and I can't!

this seems to be fixed after installing nvidia driver 566.14 released today.

Like An Unoriginal Name said, the problem's been fixed in Nvidia Game Ready Driver version 566.14. It was an issue discovered in version 566.03 after its release.

Oddly the fix hasn't been mentioned in any of the release notes.

EDIT: Correction, the issue was already discovered in version 565.90
