Quest 2 Controllers always visable (Toggle Dashboard)
Inside Steam VR games the controllers are always visible, they're layered over hands or they clash with objects, It's immersion-breaking and makes games like Pavlov harder to play as the controllers cover the weapon. Can anyone help me with this issue?

I've posted screenshots of the controllers visible in games displaying the message

Does this happen all the time? I've had it happen once or twice with the Index, so seems like a general SteamVR issue, and it's quite frustrating indeed. I haven't been able to reproduce it at will though.

Edit: Just checked out your screenshot, in that you can see it lists inputs for that controller, that is when you get if you have enabled "Show Binding on Controllers in VR". There should also be a floating window somewhere with the name of the current title, action sets and a close button. Pressing that close button should hide the input overlay.

it happens like 8/10 times and doesn't happen in every single game but it's frequent.
With the screenshots are you talking about the bottom where it says steam VR? I can't close that as it will close SteamVR itself. I'm looking more into it, hopefully, I can solve it

This[i.imgur.com] is what I see when I toggle this mode, there's a close window which will hide both the controller overlays (in this case they're huge) and the controllers. From your screenshots I take it you cannot see this window, which makes me think this is a glitch which might be worth detailing in the bug reports forum.

I managed to open that window somehow, do you know what the setting is called to make sure I cant see it anymore?

I am currently having the same issue as you man. I have the toggle dashboard button appearing in all my games and even doing the thing that Boll, suggested the quest controllers still appear in the game. Its a pretty annoying thing that has been happening to me lol quite mad steam hasn't addressed this.

You ever figure a solution to this?

Sadly I haven't found a fix for it, I'm just not using VR atm it's way too intrusive and annoying, if I do find a fix I'll be sure to CC you in

I had this exact issue, the cause for me was that my 'swap menu and oculus buttons' settings was turned on. Turning it back off fixed everything. For some reason neither of the home or oculus buttons were able to open the actual dashboard in steamvr so the dashboard tutorial wasnt able to be completed which meant it was always trying to teach you how to do it (even in game, which is why the controllers were always visible).

Ok so before you even link to a pc, go to the oculus settings. Then go to 'Device'. Click 'Hands and Controllers' (should be the first option set under the Device menu) and you should see the option to turn off 'swap menu and oculus buttons'. As was said before, turning off this option means that, at least in steam vr, the left menu button activates the steam menu and the right on activates the oculus menu instead of both activating the same menu. Once you turn this setting off and go back to steam vr, you'll finally be allowed to complete the steamvr tutorial and the controller models will finally stop being in your games.

This even appears outside of steam games, I have tried to get rid of it for a couple of hours but failed.

There is nothing I can do to fix this.
