Edit: Just checked out your screenshot, in that you can see it lists inputs for that controller, that is when you get if you have enabled "Show Binding on Controllers in VR". There should also be a floating window somewhere with the name of the current title, action sets and a close button. Pressing that close button should hide the input overlay.
it happens like 8/10 times and doesn't happen in every single game but it's frequent.
With the screenshots are you talking about the bottom where it says steam VR? I can't close that as it will close SteamVR itself. I'm looking more into it, hopefully, I can solve it
Sadly I haven't found a fix for it, I'm just not using VR atm it's way too intrusive and annoying, if I do find a fix I'll be sure to CC you in
I had this exact issue, the cause for me was that my 'swap menu and oculus buttons' settings was turned on. Turning it back off fixed everything. For some reason neither of the home or oculus buttons were able to open the actual dashboard in steamvr so the dashboard tutorial wasnt able to be completed which meant it was always trying to teach you how to do it (even in game, which is why the controllers were always visible).
God bless you sir, it worked for me. That was driving me crazy!
Where do i find the 'swap menu and oculus buttons' option, i've look in settings for about 30 minutes and can't seem to find it, the quest 2 controllers are always visible for me
Ok so before you even link to a pc, go to the oculus settings. Then go to 'Device'. Click 'Hands and Controllers' (should be the first option set under the Device menu) and you should see the option to turn off 'swap menu and oculus buttons'. As was said before, turning off this option means that, at least in steam vr, the left menu button activates the steam menu and the right on activates the oculus menu instead of both activating the same menu. Once you turn this setting off and go back to steam vr, you'll finally be allowed to complete the steamvr tutorial and the controller models will finally stop being in your games.
im going to expirement further
