Streaming assistant is no more, if your headset has updated to 5.9 firmware, you now require Pico connect
Uninstall Pico streaming assistant on PC and install Pico connect from Pico website.
Pico connect requires a login to Pico. You CAN´t use Pico Connect OFFline. Always on !
Also the new 5.9.2 is blocking third-party software like some games which wanted to install on the headset.
I will stay on Pico OS 5.8.2. That´s fine and makes no problems.
That's just not true.
Pico connect 'login' is so instead of displaying a connection screen in headset for WiFi or usb, if you are logged in, if will automatically immediately go to your desktop.
You don't have to login at all, it just speeds up process and essentially makes the Pico connect app a desktop viewer as soon as it's open, of course you can start steam vr from there too.
Offline is fine?
Pirates be pirates though and like to spread misinformation
When i tried to connect to my old router with NEW Pico Connect-Software over cable not Wifi i needed to login too. Also the software wanted to connect to the Internet which i don´t want to allow. So i couldn´t use it for PCVR.
And i was tracing which IPs Pico Connect wanted to contact. Why was PConnect connecting to Japan ? Pico is a chinese company.
Installing apps onto the headset is very usefully. So i did mods for Doom 3 and Prey 2006 to play it standalone. And both games are bought over the Steamshop.
Afraid that won´t possible cause Pico OS 5.9.2. I can´t test it because a fallback to older OS isn´t possible anymore after installation of a new OS.

Maybe you could try to install mods on your headset, or appllications like the free "MiXplorer" or other tools to manage the headset.
Is it still possible to unlock the "Advanced Options"? For changing features like "Loading the headset OR the Filebrowser"
Guess it is true because they want to restrict the content for users. They have to respect the laws of the countries and what you can watch or play on your headset is forbidden by law in my country. Yes ?
I had to pay 430 Euros / 3.335,9 CNY in Germany for 128 GB-Version.
