SteamVR error 301 help

idk how to fix the issue ( error 301 )

Got the same error yesterday. I tried all the fix you can find on google/reddit and the only solution that worked for me was to reinstall windows...

Had an oculus update while playing last night. after i installed the update i got this issue immediately in steam vr can't get it to stop and I've done all the fixes i can find online.

Prior fixes for 301 in the forums:

I have the same issue for now, just yesterday everything was okay. Probably SteamVR that is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up. I tried everything.

I tried to:

Reinstall SteamVR
To Fix pathing
To update drivers
To delete all configs
To restart my Quest and PC multiple times

yes i am, and even i tried without beta

I have done everything but reinstall windows and nothing has worked. Currently trying to revert back to a different update since it worked before this update

btw :

- updated drivers
- updated windows
- uninstall steam vr
- uninstall oculus app
- resets my pc
- reinstall all.
- switch to beta
- deleting a specific file to reinstall the patern
- clearing cache
AND I STILL CANT PLAY STEAM VR !
I dont know anymore.

Well just a few days ago it was okay. If you find a way to revert back the version tell me.

What's "reinstall all?"
Did you reinstall steam? It's the second fix under my #1, link provided for details.

Well I just found a temporary solution.

I use a Quest 1 and my girlfriend told me about the meta quest app and I should try to launch games through that and it actually worked. So if you own a meta quest try it. It worked for me.

atleast for now when steam finally fixes SteamVR in the first place.
