Is windows 11 good now?
it's been a while now I heard both good and bad things about win 11 just currious if it's worth the switch from win 10 - 11 or not.

A difficult question to answer. Will Windows 11 cause VR problems specifically? Likely not, and if it does, it could be because it is preventing a suspicious driver from running. I have Windows 11, and the VR problems I had with my OG HTC Vive were to do with my 7900 XTX drivers and how it interfaced with the Vive.
I got into the habit of avoiding every second Windows after XP: Vista and Windows 8.x to be precise. However, Windows 11 is quite nice, and I eventually got my VR working.

edit: You can always revert back to Windows 10 using inbuilt tools if your W11 experience is less than ideal.

VR works fine for me in windows 11.
Microsoft dropped support for Mixed Reality headsets now, Not only your headset will be bricked (Because you need the application running for it to work), The Mixed Reality portal is deprecated and no longer getting updates as far as I know.

Keep Windows 10 if you still have it, No point in updating now. If you have any headsets considered to only run the Windows Mixed Reality platform, Please keep Windows 10 or upgrade to an Oculus or Vive headset

You know, valve could grab the drivers and incorporate them into Steam VR...

Or get onto HP's back and get them to make some drivers

I've heard so much stories when VR on Windows 11 works great, no matters what headset used, but in same time i've seen on my own how Windows 11 is going crazy and you just can forget about VR on this OS. I have Quest 2, and my friend have Pico 4, he uses Win11 about 2 years and it works fine, but when i tried to just clean install of OS, Steam, SteamVR and try to play... every 10-15 minutes any vr game just crashes, and takes Steam VR with it. My friend used Virtual Desktop to play wirelessly, but when he's router broke, he decided to use Pico Connect, and yesterday i seen how it goes, he freezes every 10-30 seconds. I tell him to try ALVR with cable, and i've helped him to install this, and, he got same problems and same errors like me, ALVR just goes crazy on Windows 11, and same with official headset software. So, i just dunno how so many people going well in VR on Win 11. I downgraded back to Win 10 about 3 weeks before, and even when Microsoft stop supporting, i gonna stay on it, as long as my headset works.

Windows 11 is a freakshow.
It's been nothing but misery.
It is now, then, and forevermore.
I miss Windows 10.
Waiting for good VR support on Linux, though given that I am unable to use VR on Windows 11 for the last four months I will be putting Linux on this box, like all the others.
Stay with what works, the grass is dead over here.
