Have you got the latest streaming assistant on both the PC and Pico?
the latest version of streaming assistant for the pico4 is tagged 31-07-2023, so at a guess if it's just broken for you on the latest steamvr update, maybe a pico4 driver being loaded here isn't compatible with the latest SteamVR vrserver.
valve probably don't unit test for all known variants of hmd available, so if you can show some debug logging of your use case maybe it can be resolved.
you can find the documentation here.
https://github.com/ValveSoftware/openvr/blob/master/docs/Driver_API_Documentation.md#debugging-steamvr-with-visual-studio
I can't change the controllers because I can't reach the menu with the headset control.
I'm gonna wait for a new update from pico or steam.
I can activate the controller for one second and then the headset deactivate it.
I manage (hardly) to check the controller setup and i'm on the default oculus controller.
Controllers are working there ?
Ah, sure they do. Because you need to set the HMD to connect to the Streaming Assistanz.
You can set SteamVR on your Desktop with your mouse.
Start SteamVr over your Steamclient´s Library. And in the little window which will open has a small menue in the left corner above.
There you could try different configs.
Make sure your Pico is connected and on power when open SteamVR. Otherwise you won´t see all settings.
Update: WOW. SteamVR has really a problem with controllers.
Played HalfLife2VRmod 5 hours ago and now controllers are not working correctly.
Very annoying crap this SteamVR2.0. Were the devs are drunken when released that bugfest ?
At the first time my controllers didn´t work also. But i tried 3 hours to make that work.
I did use all configurations. Configs from the community, or set much own. Nothings work really. But ... when i did change the entry for Pico Controllers to Oculus Touch and then to Index Knuckles i could use the controllers a bit. Also i could use the "Capacitive"-Function like the Index-Controllers uses.
I did switch back to Oculus and reconfigure it in the games. All was fine, worked well, but now SteamVR opened SteamHome and controllers lose some features.
I guess i have to set the controller-buttons in the config for HL2VRmod again.
But first i will reboot and start SteamVR for a fresh run. BBL (Seen that Steam has forgotten my old config.
Happy that this config is already stay in the list and i could reload my own settings again) But why did Steam itself these settings?
Edit: In the Streaming Assistant there is an option to set the controllers to a "Compatibilty Mode". That i did to test, and it was working fine. Try it.Later i did switch back to the normal mode, because open the Steam-Dashboard with Menue-Button left on the Pico controller is more easy to use for me.
I don't know if the new beta steam vr change something but it works again (even with VD).
