Personally, I have a list of reasons why I don't think the Pimax is a good choice "at this time" but I think there is potential in the future for them.
The 8k+ just came out and has some good reviews. It actually won "Digital Trends Top Tech of CES 2020 Award", for whatever that's worth, lol!

With just a tiny bit of digging, you'll find reviews and videos, including comparisons to the Index.
Note that you need a beefy computer...
2. The Pimax 8K X won the Digital Trends award for AR/VR tech of CES 2020.

cant wait to receive it...
i sugest you to go directly to the 8k X if you can afford it 8kx seems to be the best of the pimax headsets
The compatibility issues for some games would only be a small problem if you compare it to would you get. (FOV 200/higher resolution/crisp clear image/optional eye tracking) But the impressions I have been reading and watching are mostly with preproduction model made by professional reviewers. I would very much appreciate to know what a “normal” user is thinking about the product. I will have a look at the video and forums.
I have been thinking about the 8k X but the price and lower refresh rate is holding me back. As for my specs, I have an AMD 3800x with RTX2080 Ti so that should be fine. (although I still doubt that it will be enough for the 8k X)
to see normal people trying it tape in youtube : ces las vegas
