steam vr glitching, lagging, freezing

Hello all.
Im running a quest 2 on a gaming laptop. Spec wise it handles vr very well ( half life alyx on decent settings) and has for the past 6 months.
Usually play with a link cable. My dog recently chewed the end off it. No biggie, was a mid range one anyways. As i use the VR a bit, i splurged on a nicer cable.
Go to use it and when i go to run steam VR on my quest now, it is a glitchy, laggy mess or just goes black. Playing silky smooth walkabout minigolf a few days ago and now I cant access any of my steam library.

Occulus works as it always does so i thoiught it may be the cable. used air link and another usb cable ( to short to play VR) and getting the exact same results.
My net runs anywhere from 50mbps to 120mbps ( not the best but im in Australia and never caused a issue before)

Has anyone else had this issue or have any idea what it could be. Im absolutely stumped on this :(

Exactly the same here and has been for weeks now. I too run a laptop that is very capable of handling Half Life Alyx but now any VR games just glitch out and then crashes. I have a very good internet connection so that is not my problem at all. It is on Steams end somehow. Do you have windows 11?

no idea what has caused it mate. Yea im running windows 11. i just updated all my drivers. Its just annoying. 3 days ago it was all running perfectly fine. no idea whats caused this but its very irritating
