Play Space Shifted and Tracking Broken. Help!
I have followed all the guides and have tried everything. I am using a sync cable there are no shiny things in the room and they are less then 5m apart and over 6 and a half feet. The problem started yesterday and whenever I look directly at a lighthouse, has to be the same angle it is looking down at me. The Vive flips out and looses track of me and I have to wait to it to find me again. It tracks perfectly everywhere else. I can have my head against a wall with my hands on the sides of the headset and it tracks perfectly. But one look and I go floating. I seem to have fixed the problem by make one at about 20 degrees and the other at 45 degrees. But now when I draw my play space it is shifted to the right and forwards. I reinstalled steamVR and put the lighthouses back to how they were but the playspace is still screwed up. I tried advanced and it shows it accurately but as soon as I look at it through the Vive the chaperones are way off and I hit the walls. I am running windows 7, GTX980ti, 4670K, in a room about 4X5. I have pictures if that would help. Just very frustrating as no one else has a clue. Maybe a dev could help.

I removed a white board in my room and that seems to have done the trick for the tracking issues. The play space issue is still a thing and it is really annoying. No matter how I do it is always way to far to the right and forwards. AWWWWWWWWWWWW!

Go to the steamVR settings, then developer then select Room oeverview. Move the controllers and head set around, if they are out of sync re-run room setup. That is a very useful tool cause it will show what the lighthouse's can see and where they hit the controller/HMD.

If you move the either lighthouse just a little you have to rerun the room setup. Taking that board down might have caused some issues and setup will have to be run again.

I have re tracked my room many times now and still nothing. Here is a picture of the developer stuff. http://imgur.com/sZD1JyS
Where the controllers are sitting is where my wall is and where the chaperons should be. The lighthouses can see everything perfectly and tracking is spot on.

I see your problem. Both are on okay locations. You need to aim both lighthouses to each other. You also need to angle them towards center of your play area angled at your diaphram. Then recalibrate

One more thing. If you are standing at lower right corner, facing the lower right corner, you are blocking the upper right corner lighthouse and it won't track.

Swapped USB ports, unplugged my keyboard, and swapped boxes and what do you know...IT WORKS!!! Thanks a million. I think it is my keyboard though as I had to have it unplugged to start SteamVR the first time otherwise I got a 301 error. Now it works perfectly!

disable the camera feaure in the vive in the steam vr settings. some motherboards are not able to transfer speeds. get off beta as well. and yes swapping usb 2.0 to usb 3.0 worked for me as i was having the same issue as you were. also turning off camera. my camera works just fine now but sometimes it just wont come on due to speed on the usb or sofware bug.

I am on stable. It is connected to 3.0 and I can't turn the camera on in SteamVR. I click enable and it says you need to resart steamVR so I do and then it is still unchecked and says enable. So that might be it. But how would I fix that.

i have no idea.also, turn off "bluetooth support" to turn off the lighthouse automatically. this is another issue which needs to be addressed. unplug and replug them in. try the thing see if it works or not.

Tried that already. I am probably going to just return it and wait a couple years.
