Play your own movies in steam vr theater?
Is there a way to do this?

Hmm, I know that if I have launched a game into it and tab out of the game, it will actually show my desktop. Theoretically it might work to open a video app and start playing whatever.

Another solution might be to add a video player as an external app to Steam, but this is just speculation, I might try this at some point.

Just want to add.. in the Vive software there is now a video screen. So you can basically watch movies in between playing games, etc.. and for paid options, you have Virtual Desktop, etc.. that can handle side by side, etc.. virtual reality movies as well as 2D. Just adding info.

Yeah i kinda like the steam vr theater atmosphere tho..I have virtual desktop and dont care for there home cinema environment.Man i miss riftmax theater and i heard CINEVEO sux.

there's always vive cinema, it's free and can do both regular movies and sbs

"Bigscreen Beta" has cinema environments.
