My Microphone is not working in my HTC Vive
Tried everything, restarted the HTC Vive, but the microphone won't work. Any suggestions?

First: How are you testing it? Playing a game, streaming, VoIP?

Second: What are your SteamVR audio settings?

In the monitor use the top left SteamVR dropdown and pick Settings.
Go to the Audio section and see what your "Set Record device to" is.

If it is set to "Do not change device" it will use your system default, you have to change this to have it swap to your HTC Vive microphone.

At the bottom you can set what SteamVR should swap back to after exiting VR.
I'm not live streaming, just won't let me talk through my microphone.

It is set to do not change device -could you explain the next step a bit more clearly please?

If it is set to not change it will keep using the input device that is your default recording device in Windows.

You can see which devices are you default by locating the speaker symbol in your tray, that is all your status icons down in the corner. Right click the speaker and choose "Recording devices".

It might not be clear which USB device is your HTC Vive, but it should be in there. Hold the headset up to your face and speak in the microphone to see if any of the level meters react. If you find it, double-click it to open properties and rename it to something like "HTC Vive Microphone[i.imgur.com]", this makes it easier to find generally.

Here you can also locate any other devices you have connected, like any USB headset microphone, desktop microphones, wireless headset microphone, motherboard microphone, USB soundcard microphones. Rename the ones you can figure out what they are and it will make your life easier. This can also be done for Playback devices in the same way, it's just another tab in the same settings window.

So, back to SteamVR! The basic setup is to have SteamVR swap to the HTC Vive USB devices, mirror to your standard output, and the swap back to your standard devices. Something like this[i.imgur.com].

If you cannot find the USB devices at all, then you have a problem!
