Have you tried switch Steam to beta?
Any mods for Steam VR?
1) yes I tried changed to Steam VR Beta
2) yes I tried changed to run steamvr as administrator
3) no mods
4) I'm using Intel, more specifically Laptop MSI RTX3060 intel core I7, I brought together with VR set (only week old) so should not be a problem, right?
still not working atm.
Steam VR code 108 is a connection issue. If you were on a PC, I would suggest the above solution, but since it'a a laptop, I'm unsure if a powered external usb hub would solve the issue.
I will try something else then. thank you.
running amd ryzen 9 3900x, rtx 2080ti, 32gb ram at 3600mhz
Thanks, I did that and worked for 1 day. but today got the same issue, tried again and now it isn't work.
After steamvr "detected" the headset, the "Unexpected Steamvr Error" "SteamVR has encountered a critical error"
And the options I can choose is either Restart SteamVR or Quit SteamVR
After restart SteamVR
1. SteamVR Blocked "pico" and "Gamepad support" in manage add-ons
2. Unblock and restart SteamVR
3. start the Critical Error loops again.
1: SteamVR is installed on a different drive than "C"? (It's a hooking issue) -Gotta be installed on C.
2: Exit Steam, execute VR headset vendor's program (PicoLink?), and make sure headset is active. Restart Steam. Steam detects headsets at startup.
Thanks for follow up my case.
1) yes the steamvr installed in drive C: (same place with windows)
2) yes it is PicoLink, and I follow your instruction and no it is not detect the headset
Have tried running picolink software with administration?
Have tried reinstalling picolink software?
I have tired both which back and forth for everytime I reinstall the Steamvr.
reinstalled pico link and work. thanks
hope it last.
Sorry could not find the headset driver in device manager.
hope reinstall picolink work last at least 1 week
I hooked up my Pimax headset and no issues whatsoever with that... so the issue is with the Index headset itself. I opened a support ticket with Steam and explained everything I tried. They replied basically telling me to re-try everything(made me wonder if they even read what I wrote). For the heck of it, yes I did try again... but still no luck.
If anyone is wondering, these are the specs on the 2 PC's I have tried:
PC1: 5950X, 3090 SLI, 128GB Memory, 2TB gen4 Nvme(Windows drive), 4TB Gen3 Nvme(Steam drive)
PC2: 12900K, 3090, 64GB Memory, 1TB Gen4 Nvme(Windows drive), 2TB Gen3 Nvme(Steam drive)
I also have 4 2.0 Base Stations setup in each corner of the room and no obstructions whatsoever.
My ticket is still open and they have not replied to me in 2 days now!
