Valve index blurry image
Been playing around with the headset for a day not and although my frames and great the image seems slightly blurry for some reason, I don't have any eye problems that I know of and the plastic cover is off the lenses.
For some reason though when I put my in game hands close to my face and look away from them the image of my hands gets super clear in my peripheral vision but when I look back at them they get blurry again, do I have some sort of undiagnosed eye problem or am I doing something wrong?

Things go blurry when you look at things up close yeah? This is the vergence-accommodation conflict.

Basically your brain has an algorithm that changes the lenses in your eyes as your eyes converge on a subject at various distances, thus different relative angles between the eyes, and this is so dominant that in VR when you look at something up close your lenses automatically adjust while the VR headset has a fixed focal plane.

This means your eyes are correcting for how reality would behave, but in VR tech we don't have vari-focal yet, so the focal distance is usually set to a fixed value of 1.5-2 meters. I also find it uncomfortable to look at things close up, one trick you can use if it's about reading text, is to close one eye.

How much this affects people varies, I don't get blur, I just get eye-fatigue. But then I have glasses otherwise and other visual problems so I guess my brain is just less strict, or something 😅
VR was very blurry for me until I got my headset fitted properly and the IPD set right. Now it's only an issue when things get too close to my eyes and that's usually a thing with videos not games.

tried everything, still get nothing, might be worth it to just reinstall the index possibly? or do you think it's something on my end?
