VR compositor not working - HTC VIve - no chance to run on PC

hi everybody,

i am about to work with the HTC Vive and just started to learn basics about VR. unfortunately there is no chance to geht the device up and running on a PC.

after setting up everything correct (including all updates etc) the "vr compositor" is just crashing (error code: -203). you can restart it easily by the software but than the 3d-room is just fixed in the HTC Vive. it is impossible to look around in the room.

i tried it on a mac - not my computer.
it worked plug and play. no stress.

i appreciate any help, to make it work on pc (win7).

You got the latest graphic-card-driver installed?
Maybe reinstall of graphic-card-driver could help.

i think the problem is that the vr compositor is crashing at the very beginning. after that all devices (headset, controler, stations) turn into green (means ready), but you are supposed to restart the vr compositor. doing that seems like doing the very first step last... so any idea how to fix the crashing at the beginning would help.
