HTC vive Controllers : DEAD or what?

Hi, i want to start by saying, i use the HTC PRO, with the Cable BOX.
Will soon test with HTC nonPRO

Am i using the wrong Firmware? ( firmware/htc/vr_neo_vrc_00010000000000BD.bin)
IS HTC controller EVEN compatible with HTC PRO headset?

So my vive controllers don't work. They are Very weird acting.

i have 2xBLACK VIVE controllers

Both VIC-1/VIC-2 Do not Track

i have 2xBLUE Vive PRO controllers.

----VICP-4
Both VICP-3/VICP-4 ; Just work.

Both "VIC" and "VICP" Show the EXACT Model/part number physicly... but different names in OVR.
They also Sound Different, ON.OFF_differentlty.
When plugging VIC, upon pressing power button IMEDIATLY 0.01secThey turn on
VICP as 3-4 sec delay before turning on, plugged or not.


#VIC-1.Status.LOG#
When i pair/connect *VIC-1*
-It pairs, it lights up green,it registers as if the controller was TRACKED and SEEN, but also keep on searching for it in STEAMVR(Discovered in "Controller Settings")

-Every button does not work
Connecting *VICP-3 or *VICP-4* = Pressing 'VIC-1'".POWERButton.Click" NOW shows "SteamVR Overlay"
Seems(for now)i cannot replicate this behavior with VIC-2


#VIC-2.Status.LOG#
When i pair/connect VIC-2
-It pairs, it lights up green, it search
-Every button seems to not work, then i connect VICP-3, but it doesn't connect unless VIC-2 is disconnected first...
;Turn off VIC-2 ; Turn on VICP-3 ; Turn on VIC-2 :
Pressing 'VIC-2'".POWERButton.Click" Doesn't do anything.


#Hardware-Reset.LOG#
So i Tried HARDReset Function: trigger/grip/trackpad/menu + plug in.
both VIC-1 donot Flash Red


#FirmwareUpdate.LOG#
So i Tried MANUALLY updating the firmware
Found an error in Valves official Guide [

I instead used
[HOLD]trigger/grip/trackpad/menu + plug in ; 0.5/1sec Delay + [HOLD]Power button(HOLD = 10SEC)

i could achieve USB Mode/"CRP DISABLD"

#CurrentStatus.LOG#
VIC-1 has been plugged in USB mode succesfully, deleted firmware.bin,Copied "TheWrongFirmware.BIN" to controller. Power Cycled : is now stuck on ORANGE_on, even when its unplugged.*edit. Fixed using "vr_neo_vrc_00010000000000BD.bin" *

VIC-2 has been plugged in USB mode successfully, deleted firmware.bin, Copied vr_neo_vrc_00010000000000BD.bin to controller, power cycled: SteamVR Tells to update VIC-2. So i do... SteamVR Restarting SteamVR Tells to update VIC-2.

Now both VIC-1/VIC-2 act as following
; can Power.ON when already ON ; Blue Light when Power.ON after Power.ON ;
; can Power.ON[HOLD10sec.]Power.off ;

Cant tell you what firmware they're on now but you should be able to get a clarification on whats happening over there.

So apperently the controllers are not compatible from PRO to not PRO
This is a shame, but i need you to know me VIVE... So i ordered a 60$ NON PRO controller and repaired my PRO controller with the NON-PRO Plastic SHell.I dont get F***ed in the VIVE...(only the plastic was broken from the inside out... a Huge shame that they don't sell the plastic parts... Now we have to 3D-print them... only solution to CHEAP repair controllers)
