Hard to say, i have in my livingroom, a wide opened windowfront, huge tv, cabinet with two glasfronts, a huge picture with glas, the pc on one side has glas and reflects like hell, also laying around an ipad. On top, the router was also at 5GHz, two playstations, one WII-U. The Sun shining in summer thru it, i wrote it in a thread that time and had no issues.

But know that lasers are circulating thru your room, people have reportet they needed to hang something before there window, switch off their TV etc.

I have my basestations at exactly 40°.

I case you have one huge wall with a mirror, i would found a solution like something about jalousie to pull down, if the mirrors would make trouble. I bet there are many solutions that doesn't cost the world and look nice.

It depends on you. There are always solutions. In my officeroom, i used the wallholders for the basestations who are screwed into the wall. In the living room i had to improvisate.
So i ordered two construction site statives, who looks not so bad at all, and hide them behind the windowcurtain, and the other behind the door. Works flawless if i want more space or people visiting us. So i just simple take the HMD and the basestations to the livingroom and connect them. The statics are in 10 seconds removed or placed.

And if everything fails, i would have no problems to use a blöanket to hang over the mirror. When im in the VR, i wouldn't care about a blanket hanging around as long im using it. ;O)

Be creative. ^^

Very much yes from my own experience. I have a dedicated VR room with a mirrored closet door that has to be covered or the tracking flat out doesn't work.

SteamVR Support says most such issues have been fixed...

While most issues caused by reflective surfaces have been solved, in some situations they can still cause tracking issues. If you are losing tracking or motion controllers occasionally float away in VR, try covering reflective surfaces in your VR area.

I started using Vive on Oct 12. At first I was worried about my full gloss white TV table (2 meters wide and a bit outside the VR game area, however still within the lighhouse sensor area), but have not noticed any differences in tracking when covering it up with a stretch sheet. I still have controller stutters/judders (in The Lab + VR Tutorial) and the occasional frame-stuttering. Covering all possible reflective surfaces did not make any difference. I have 4 cabinets with glass front, covered those with 4 black T-shirts.

But an actual mirror might be another story :)

I don't know about now, but in July when I brought my Vive to a friend they had one mirror on the other side of a room, tracking worked well until facing the mirror and being on that edge of the space, then it would spaz out like crazy. I would avoid mirrors even if they have improved the reflection resistance, just to be safe :P

As tracking works by the lasers tracing horizontally and vertically the room, a mirror would interfere for sure. Best and easiest solution would be to cover the mirror with something during gameplay with the vive. Hard solution, move the mirror or install the vive on another room :(

All right then, I'll just use some bedsheets or something to cover up the mirror. Thanks again guys!
