Do the vive cosmos controllers work with the htc vive?

I damaged one of my htc vive controllers recently. So I Instead of getting it repaired, I had plans to get different controllers entirely because the og vive controllers are a pain to use. I was thinking of getting the vive cosmos controllers because they had buttons and proper joysticks. It says that it’s states that the vive cosmos works with the 1.0 base stations that I have but I’m unsure if it’s only the headset and not the controllers.

Can I get a heads up if the controllers do work with the 1.0 base stations so I don’t spend hundreds of dollars on something that doesn’t work with my hardware?

No. The vive cosmos has an additional faceplate that allows you to use it with base station 1.0s. The cosmos controllers don't work with the base stations. It's either vive wands or index controllers. Pimax also has sword controllers that you might be able to get at a discounted price and are similar to vive wands but I've not used them personally.
